Italy is experiencing one of the hottest summers on record, and hundreds of thousands of Parmigiano Reggiano wheels can’t handle the heat.

Can’t we solve this problem like Elon would solve the problem and simply store the cheese in space?

Honestly storing cheese in space makes more sense than putting data centers in space

Due to orbital decay, it ends up raining fondue. It’s a huge mess.

You’re right. We’d better store different cheeses together with some white wine, an assortment of spices and a bit of Kirschwasser. If it’s going to be raining fondue, we may as well do it in style!

There will be a cannon attached that can fire the cheese directly to your doorstep with a little parachute attached for safe landing.

Tbh the possesive form of “it” is a bitch. For all other words you do 's to indicate possession, but for this exact word you leave out the apostrophe. Whether vs weather, their, there, vs they’re, or your vs you’re, they all have nothing on this contra intuitive POS of a rule.

Also the correct response to your comment would be: always has been

For all other words you do 's to indicate possession

Only if the words are nouns, not for pronouns. “Its” is a possessive pronoun, like his, hers, ours, yours, theirs. None of those words use apostrophes.

Motherforking shirtballs! You made it make sense. Of cause “it” is a pronoun, and thus follows pronoun rules. Thank you.

No problem! Fwiw, I think you’re definitely right that it’s unintuitive, as is the English language’s love of homonyms in general. I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for non-native speakers.

Specifically because it conflicts with the contraction “it’s”, at least that’s how I remember.

it’s interesting how non-native speakers almost never confuse those though

we make other kinds of mistakes, personally i really struggle with prepositions in every one of my non-native languages, because my native language doesn’t have them, but has a weird suffix system instead

Because for native speakers we confuse the homonyms. Non-natives didn’t grow up hearing all these words pronounced exactly the same.
