The best way I can describe drinking this entire thing as a colon prep for a procedure is that it’s like that bit in the sixth Harry Potter book where he has to force feed Dumbledore that basin of poison to get to the bottom (it’s been established that they’re not great books but I’m part of that generation) but you’re both Harry and Dumbledore both force feeding it to yourself while begging yourself not to do it all while lamenting the awful cruelty of Voldemort (your doctor).

It doesn’t even taste that bad. It’s just… revolting in a very non-obvious way. I can’t even tell you why it’s bad. But it is.

The first time I had to drink one of these before surgery, I had no problems with it. I was stopped up pretty bad a couple of weeks later and got another bottle; it had done such a great job the first time. Drank half the bottle and then immediately vomited. I guess my body remembered what the liquid did and got a little ahead of itself.
