Each person has a different definition of good. On a Venn diagram, you might even overlap with Hitler or pol pot on one or two points. Humans and their ethics and morality are complex. Different people have different dealbreakers.
Take the example of “even a broken clock is right twice a day” and therein find an answer.

We have grave re-use here, but it’s kinda hard to explain (especially for me coming from the outside). Graves are family graves and bones (or maybe just some small portion) get moved to an inner temple after so much time.
There are, of course, grave costs, upkeep costs, etc. which are, frankly, insane in many cases, but that’s just my opinion.

Cremation is big here in Japan for a few reasons, but one is very pragmatic: there’s not enough space to bury everyone on the land we have, particularly anywhere near their family. I’m not sure if this is an issue in Thailand as well or how big of one if so, but they also have a lot of jungle.

it’s built within a trust system where an individual is expected to not shoplift (due to shaming culture) as public face and reputation matters to them.
It’s because there are tons of security cameras and a super high prosecution rate. It has nothing to do with “shame” or “face” and it drives me crazy when people say stuff like this
People shoplift here every day. Convenience store clerks have basically big paintballs to lob at shoplifters to mark them as they run.

Yes. I’m not sure if it’s because I have aphantasia or I’m not a very visual person to begin with, but kanji learning sucks for me. I also have backslid on writing since the only thing I ever write by hand these days is my address. I don’t even mind the many readings; it’s the physical forms I have issue remembering.

I am a huge fan of language learning and, if I had my way, would make all high school graduates take at least six months and live in some country very different to their own (including language) to get them out of the USAmerican bubble, but that certainly isn’t happening.
I’m working on language number 5 myself (more if you count the ones I just tried to get to basic greetings, yes/no, etc. in).

Not in the most important parts, heh

More or less. Nothing electronic in me yet… that I know of.

I live in Japan and can’t be drafted as a non-citizen. Living here, I’m not sure what either of my citizenship countries could do to actually draft me. Also in my mid-40s, colorblind, and with several parts of me held together by screws and plates, so I’m not exactly at the top of any list.

I thought for some reason he was next in line and crown prince. Thank you for correcting me

Ah, it might be my mistake, then. I thought he was next in line.

I think the actual question is “why does the US not do shit about this when other countries do”.
It doesn’t help that the Norway crown prince (EDIT: not the crown prince as I thought; sorry !) has a rape trial going on at the moment (the courts are apparently deliberating now after all testimony if my (much-work-in-progress) Norwegian is to be believed)

Until when it’s considered acceptable by society as whole depends on that area’s culture. In Japan, one might find even elementary kids sharing a bed with the parents (or at least mom as dad sometimes would sleep separately). I think even here anyone over 10 would be kinda weird here. The US takes an even more dim view on it (in part because cosleeping was thought to cause things like SIDS so it’s generally not started that much to begin with).
When it came out, it had some issues that took a while to work out. Otherwise, it works without me noticing it the vast majority of the time which is what I want in a phone.
I have a pixel 6 pro running the stock OS. I will run it until it is on its last legs and decide where to go next. To use banking and government apps here, I’m somewhat limited in my choices.

Legally this is true in the US. In practice, people claim enough to hit “real” minimum wage and no one usually cares (until that tipped employee needs to prove income for a loan or something and they’re screwed)

Absolutely not. Some groups are trying to do that shit here in Japan so they can stop paying a proper wage and pass off costs to consumers. It’s awful.

I watch stuff in languages I barely understand and can at least somewhat enjoy it.
In Japan, many films get Japanese subtitles, but the US is less into that. (A lot of films also get dubbed which can delay releases for like 6+ months, if they even release in theatres at all, but that’s another story).
I have and plenty. It depends on the person, the setting, and how well you know them.
