Any service only cares about engagement so the dislike was never really useful because the core of engagement is rage bait. The only way to truly downvote content is to not engage with it whatsoever. Ex. The only way to dislike Instagram is to not use the platform

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do women pretend to enjoy sex?
1·15 hours agoVery true, I figured they’ve already gotten that from the plethora of other comments but yeah no harm in keeping it less vague. No pleasure or less pleasure doesn’t mean pain or pressure. Also the 80% is 80% of women consistently having pleasure not 80% not having pleasure. Absolutely having no pleasure from anything would be not unheard of but pretty uncommon.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do women pretend to enjoy sex?
19·21 hours agoYou got a lot of life and exploration ahead of you. Go slowly and safely, communication is key and you will be fine. I would suggest consulting with a gynecologist though. Also to answer your question.
Only about 18% of women report reaching orgasm from vaginal penetration without any additional clitoral stimulation.
Roughly 36% of women can orgasm during penetration if their clitoris is stimulated at the same time.
Up to 80% of women require clitoral stimulation (either alone or combined with penetration) as their most reliable route to orgasm.
I thought /s meant small peen.
More like slam it as hard as possible to bounce it high or rocket it right at someone’s skull but yes.

3·1 day agoMore so political power as money alone does nothing. There’s always been that type of power and money is a representation of value and there’s always been value and power so long as there’s been minds. The first organisms to cause a mass extinction was photosynthesizing microorganisms. They poisoned the atmosphere with oxygen and nearly killed everything, including themselves. Of course they didn’t do so for money or power or really out of any will but they are the first organisms to cause a mass extinction.

6·1 day agoBut money and power is more important than the environment we need to produce said money and power as well as survive. This will be the second time an organism has caused a mass extinction but the first time the organism self proclaimed that it was intelligent.
I come back to Taoism, that is suffering becomes possible when one becomes separate from the Tao aka the way things are, aka the truth. Like if I lie that I can fly unassisted and jump off a building then I have removed myself from truth and when I go to test this I will experience suffering. Humanity has separated itself from truth for a long time and now the bill is coming due.

It is odd how we have science, the most unreasonably successful mental constructs of mankind ever and we perpetually ignore it like if we plug our ears enough the information it finds we dislike will just go away. It’s a bit like a child cleaning their room by closing their eyes so they don’t see the mess.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I’m a little too self aware to enjoy life and a little too delusional to give up
4·2 days agoI mean yeah depends where one points their mind but still seems like the transition. I guess I’m thinking of minds trying to understand reality and how that often culminates in a compassion and acceptance practice. One for instance can choose to become increasingly aware of celebrity news or politics and will likely be trapped in that cycle you are mentioning. These days I personally don’t feel discontent like in the past, maybe disappointed like a parent might be of a child they know has so much promise and potential but that’s because I still choose to have attachments and desires. The goal is to expect nothing and accept everything, reality is going to be as it is regardless of our personal attachments or desires but I’m still hung up on wanting wellbeing for all minds. Generally I’m pretty content in the human ride, I wish it was better for others and I do my part to help.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I’m a little too self aware to enjoy life and a little too delusional to give up
28·2 days agoI think the awareness depression / discontent thing is like the dunning kruger curve. That is the unaware are mostly content, as someone becomes aware they become increasingly discontent, often falling into some sort of nihilistic depression, then as one continues past that point in awareness they grow increasingly towards being content and feelings of internal wellbeing. This is a generalized statement, some follow very different curves.
Yeah this! This is what I was thinking about. I like this comedian, I’m just famously bad at committing names to memory.
So true, sidebar I could have sworn I’ve heard Twonk before. Looked it up and got this.
Twonk is a mild, humorous British slang term used to describe a foolish or silly person. It is typically used in friendly banter among mates to refer to someone who has done something a bit thoughtless or clueless, but not necessarily malicious.
I really can’t confirm if it’s legitimate though.
I would prefer it called a clip of scissors but sure.
Last i checked though scissors don’t have a species attribute so I think we’re good.

True but one can mitigate engagement. View < comment < like < share < follow and so on (not exactly sure of the order but you get the idea). Maybe the best would be to block the account after following or report the content, that is short of leaving the platform all together.
