Which they had to do because he’s supposed to be part of the same bloodline as the previous protagonists (Arabic and Italian), but they wanted a Native American protagonist, but also they needed their protagonist to get involved in revolutionary war politics, so that’s what they ended up with.
The point is that he is very clearly native american and does not pass for a Spaniard. And on top of that, if they wanted him to be Spanish, why name him Connor?
It was the most nonsensical cover to give his character that it pretty much killed it for me right there. Up until that point, I had tolerated the stupid, but this was incompetent writing of the first order.
