If literally half of every men are circumcised, why is it even a remarkable topic to Americans? How did it become such a meme?
Americans tend to punch down with jokes on men who are not circumcised. There is a lot of social pressure to circumcise our boys here.

Jokes in America tend to put uncircumcised men as the punch line or target of the joke. That’s why I used the phrase “punch down”. Men who aren’t circumcised tend to be made fun of in the US because of the societal pressure we have to circumcise at birth.
