According to an affidavit written by a DPS special agent, Ozment allegedly called the Governorâs Office on the afternoon of July 25. DPS claims Ozment left the following voicemail (KXAN has redacted the profanity in the transcript provided by DPS):

Unlock my fâing anime.â

These privileged assholes who think getting things through official channels will work and is the best solution if only they just scream about their feelings (which they inform me facts donât care about) loud enough.

Heâs apparently under 40 and capable of navigating the Internet. Very strange that he wouldnât at least bother to look it up online or something. Presumably he had to find the phone number he called so he seems capable of finding information. It really isnât that hard to set up a free VPN if youâre literate and have Internet access. Iâm someone who regularly defends people not using Linux because itâs confusing for them, so I feel like Iâm not being overly demanding here or anything. Iâm pretty sure Firefox has a free one built in now. So, it mightâve been as easy as downloading Firefox and clicking a button. Iâm not sure because I donât use Firefox like that, but still.
Youâre vastly overestimating the benefit of youth in computing these days. It was more of a Gen X / Millennial phenomenon because computers were widespread but difficult to use. Like car guys in the preceding generations.
Going forward, there will be as many young people good at computers as there are young people good at cars. Not many, but enough to keep computer science moving forward.
Heâs in his 30s. I said under 40 because I didnât remember the exact age, but I am not attempting to suggest the iPad generation knows about computers. For what itâs worth, even someone bad at computers because they grew up on iPads could likely figure out how to get access.
