Dame here. It kind of sucks and isn’t worth going to more than a couple of times unless you have a giant wad of cash burning a hole in your wallet. They have permanent buildings and all of the acts and shops are the same every year.
I used to go to one of those. It has a lot going for it in terms of live acts, but basically it’s always the same. I stopped once I realized I was paying for the privilege of attending a Medieval Times themed shopping mall.
Renaissance festivals usually have a very lively adults only section in the primitive camping area.
Your renaissance festival has camping? The one in my area is more like a theme park than a LARP.
They might be thinking more Society of Creative Anachronism [SCA], don’t know what those guys are up to these days though.
