          That guy’s pretty cool for protecting people from drinking sewage. But I dislike how he goes on to moralise in favour of realism and against conscious spirituality. When people look for an “objective” reality to the world around them, they become vulnerable to manipulation by authority figures, both secular and religious. To be protected against abuse, people must acknowledge and take control of their own subjectivity. They must choose their own beliefs, and take an active role in deciding the perceptions that their beliefs create. Surrendering your perceptions to the “higher power” of “objective reality” is dangerous, because rich people, priests, and politicians will try to manipulate your view of “objective reality” for their personal gain.
