The tourist industry in my town belongs to large international hotel chains, fake “rich people” stores in the city center, an ungodly amount of “souvenir shops” on prime real estate who are suspiciously void of customers most of the time and some casinos. It’s not “the locals” who put them there.
Do you know how many places would be actually nice to live in if there just were much less tourism? Most if not all tourist hot spots.
