I think M-M-Monster Kill is more appropriate, even if it’s just one guy.

Haha, I have the same feeling for opposite reasons. I grew up in a warmer environment but kept my feet against the cool exterior wall my bed was next to. Now I have to have my feet uncovered and a fan on just to feel comfortable and tucked in sheets feel like I’m trapped.
Being human, eh?

4·23 days agoI have enjoyed it so far. Horror and comedy is tough to mix but this show has gotten me spooked a couple of times and gotten me to laugh my ass off a few times too. Nice balance.

4·29 days agoI rewatched it a few years back and honestly 6-7 are okay. Not brilliant but not terrible. In fact, I sort of stumbled into S8 and was (re-) disappointed in how precipitous the drop was.
Then again, like any rewatch, it ends when you stop giving a shit, haha.

15·2 months agoI haven’t interviewed anywhere in nearly a decade, but damn, the human interaction part is so important. These are your potential future coworkers, a vibe check goes both ways.
I don’t think I’d even do the first automated interview, tbh. If a human is going to be involved in hiring me down the line, they can damn well be present while I’m answering their questions.

12·2 months agoYeah, Rhea Seehorn is great. Carol is definitely intentionally abrasive (hence all of the other characters’ reactions) and the show repeatedly under cuts her methods to make her seem slightly ridiculous, but her extreme stubbornness is what makes her such a good lens for the story.
Personally, I think it’s very relatable to be an asshole in a smiling zombie apocalypse.

Television@piefed.social•House of the Dragon Season 3 | Official Teaser Trailer | HBO Max | June 21stEnglish
1·2 months agoThe big issue with this show is the writing isn’t good enough to be better than GoT and it’s trying to pull off the same epic scale story.
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a hundred times more fun. Westeros is a great setting and telling a smaller story with self-deprecating humor means the show isn’t constantly getting compared to GoT.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what's a good protest song for anti-war, anti-ice, and anti-oligarchy?
3·2 months agoUpvote for Jesse Welles. I appreciate his music can be topical, but also humorous and chill. Maybe not the sort of protest songs you play to fire people up, but definitely ones that will get their message stuck in your head.
No, that women will dress provocatively and then shame people that actually look at them.
My dad likes Dire Straits, Clapton, The Police, Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison. I know a few more from what he’s told me later in life, but those were the casettes/CDs he had around when I was a kid.
When I was a teen I tried to introduce him to the Pixies, but he looked like I was making his ears bleed.
It was my mom that introduced me to Pink Floyd though, which is really the only musical common ground I have with my parents (although I will definitely get whiskey drunk and belt out Dire Straits on occasion, or sing along to Orbison).
Take that! In 20 or 30 years…
I’m the kind of person that doesn’t even hear lyrics in music, game voice logs might as well be white noise to me. On the other hand, when the scene tells a story without words and you have to connect the dots yourself, I find that satisfying. Even basic examples like a corpse reaching toward the glowing red button.
Imo’s in St. Louis is my favorite overall. Thin, crispy crust, square cut, Provel as the base cheese. It scratches an itch that all other pizzas don’t. I’d eat it 7 days a week if I could, hot or cold.
I’ve had pizzas with superior ingredients, made in fancy ovens, served with wine instead of cold beer, but if I could get any pizza right now, it’d be Imo’s black olive or veggie pizza.
Very common here in the US as an alternative to “bless you”.

I sat down to watch it, then realized during the recap that I’d bailed 3 episodes into season 2. I might go back… Might not bother. It’s GOT without the characters that made GOT worth watching.
