3 months agoWhat a stupid argument. Some people are obviously trolls or commenting in bad faith. Blocking people like that does not build an echo chamber. If this person had said “block every person who disagrees with you” then yeah, you’re going to end up with an echo chamber.
Personally, I think it’s important to avoid blocking people so that I can see them spreading false information and that they get challenged on their BS. But plenty of people are coming to social media/ forums/ whatever you consider Lemmy to engage with other people who share a similar hobby. Not everyone needs to deal with assholes fighting over (usually American) politics.
Find writing prompts and make it a habit to do one per day or 4 per week. Something small to start. Even if you just respond with a paragraph or two to the prompt, it will exercise your creativity.
I also like the suggestion of reading a book. It forces you to focus on a single task for a period of time and can inspire you.
