  • People disagree on this often. I thought 7-8-9 was shit. However 8 was a special kind of shit. I think half of the movie was really good. The other half of it, was absolute dogshit. At least it wasn’t a “'memba” fest like 7 and 9. It tried to do original stuff, but it fucked up royally on the pursuit / canto arcs. And I’m not even talking about the hyperspace ramming.

However the Luke + Rey + Kylo arcs were genius. People hate it for the old man drinking aliencowtitjuice and being a bitter old man and for his sacrifice, but it’s actually very characteristic of him. And the mystery of Rey’s past and her connection with Kylo is very well done and explores things never seen before.

I wonder what the story behind this is. And whether Johnson had to make concessions for Disney.

  • Don’t think you get dry eyes and the sticky eye lid with LASIK. My buddy who got PRK (army boon lol) does complain about it though.

The only thing I got now is minor starburst, but I regret nothing. Ten years in and my vision got a bit worse, -87 diopter to -0.5 on both eyes after surgery to -1/1.5 now. But I’m above forty five so it’s normal. I could probably go for a corrective surgery.

However you know how trans people feel before transitioning? Body dismoprhia or dysphoria. While I was not in distress, looking into the mirror while I was still wearing glasses I was not seeing myself, but a stranger. Getting the surgery helped with that to an immediate effect, along with boosting my self confidence.

  • Yes. It’s basically cottage cheese that’s more pressed. Has a granular texture. It’s harder to find in NA, but is all over Europe.

I’m Canada, after the shuttering of Western creamery in Ontario (which also used to make cream cheese), it’s only the M&C brand that I can find in the east.

    Meanwhile in Hungary:

    • Krumplis tészta - pasta w/ crushed tatos, fried onions, bacon or kolbász and paprika
    • Káposztás tészta - cabbage pasta with sugar and black pepper sautéed in lard
    • Grízes tészta - pasta with semolina wheat (think cream of wheat), powdered sugar and peach or apricot jam
    • Túrós csusza - pasta w/ dry cottage cheese, bacon and fried onion, served with sour cream
    • Mákos tészta - poppy seed pasta, mixed with butter and sprinkled with powdered sugar

Just the tip of the ice berg.
