  • Well there’s always some difference in how countries brand yourself vs how they actually function, lol.

This country is absolutely filled with monopolies that make lives of common people worse. In ways they are worse than chaebols of Korea in terms of how untouchable they are. But also there are lines this country would never cross, like agriculture and medicine, cause that would be a political suicide.

Regarding socialism, well truth be told there’s plenty of incentive for people the keep the system running the way it is, hence the sorta world socialists envision is really really hard to implement. Not because it’s bad, I love the idea of housing as a right, and markets being a co-operative, it’s just, how do you even implement it in this atmosphere.

  • Oh, well mrp is mostly for packed food and goods. It’s extremely rare to find stuff below MRP in normal shops, but some wholesale grocery stores would sell stuff for lower than the MRP.

For stuff like vegetables and fruits, we don’t practice MRP, but at the same time, that vegetable is far more likely to come from a local farmer than in USA. Actually unless you buy from shopping markets, that vegetable is 100% from local farmer, and most people don’t buy from shopping markets, they buy from local vegetable vendors. There’s plenty of government intervention in agriculture that protects local farmers, but currently I don’t remember much of it

  • I’ll be honest, looking at how stupid people are today, I absolutely have no curiosity in seeing how stupid people were 300 or 400 years ago

Okay I don’t wanna sound too cynical, but let’s even forget complex physics, how are you going to even teach basic physics, and how likely are they are to even listen to you? Yes every action has an equal and opposite reaction, what’s a peasant gonna do with that knowledge? Unless you bring a real piece of technology with you, I feel it would be very hard to get their attention.

  • Dude, I am guilty of writing entire projects with AI. I am not exaggerating, it literally feels like brain rot. Yeah people say now devs have time for high level design but bro, you need experience to know about high level design. Like, I can think of hundred of different ways to design something, but all hundred would be shit compared to what a knowledgeable person would build. Also it won’t be the job most people like

  • I mean, I do still think those sites are dumpster fire, but there’s convenience of following few of your favorite artists, but to curate more, I need to go through that dumpster fire. That’s how I even know a few of them, because I doom scrolled a lot before. And I don’t like the idea of doing that again. Hence in another comment I said it’s better to not go there, and basically living with either the artists I already follow, or just not go to the site at all.

  • Thanks for replying. By AI I meant

    1. low effort, single prompt slops that are filling the internet

    2. Content that’s barely distinguishable as AI.

I see though, when I thought of curating non AI content, my first thought was, " why am I getting onto these platforms again" in my head it sounded like trying to pick best stuff on the internet, but then when it comes to Meta platforms, I mostly use it to chat with friends, And open Instagram links if I ever find one, or even check on a few content creators I follow. Same with YouTube shorts, I exclusively only watch omar agamy, a geopolitical news guy.

But yeah for most people like you, it’s just better to not go on the websites at all(it’s more peaceful). Like, even for me, if it’s about having a genuine conversation on Internet, I mostly come to lemmy, unless it’s a niche thing, only then I go to reddit. I guess it’s better this way, lol.

Thanks. I genuinely think it’s a good idea to avoid these sites, but having a conversation over it does help me think more clearly
