It’s largely from intergenerationl trauma, in my opinion. I think if we could somehow get a large chunk of society the mental health help they so desperately need, we could at least be helping enough people to make a positive difference in their children’s lives. The thing is, its just such a monumental task, I doubt we’ll ever really be rid of all the trauma and weird ancient cultural expectations that live within nearly everyone.

Well and despite how quickly it has grown, Asahi is still a work in progress and has not been updated for M3/M4 processors yet, even when the M5 has just released. I honestly feel like old Intel macs are a waaaay better bang for your buck if you want a stable server box, all of them handle Linux pretty flawlessly, in my albeit limited experience.

…and they had only embraced PowerPC maybe 12 years earlier in the early 90s, if I recall correctly.

Hell, Linux runs great on my nearly 20 year old 2007 iMac. Gonna miss the Intel Mac era.

Probably seems old hat, and seems unaffordable but perhaps take in a play, or a musical, or if you’re lucky enough to be close to one still operating, take in a drive-in movie.

I always found that finding a reason to dress up at least a little and go do something fun together as a shared activity helped alleviate the boredom of the norm.
