I’ve never heard that one before. Is that pronounced like “boe naan ee tea”? Where did you grow up?

2·15 days agoI also suggest pirating it, fansub or something, if possible. The Crunchyroll version (iirc) has fucked up jp audio and is really low resolution.
Same with Gurren Lagann, weirdly. Also the translations are actual ass and actively undermine the energy of it. The famous lines are literally wrong and timed and paced weirdly. Bad subs are like listening to a bad cover of Whitney Houston - you’ll get the gist, sort of, but not at all the experience.

1·20 days agoAURALnauts. Yeaaahhh. Goddamn it’s been a long time! I feel so… Ollld :(
I haven’t even watched the links, but I can hear both their signature intro sound AND the entirety of the stupid baby time song with c3p0 singing it in my head from apparently nearly 13 years ago. Time moves too fast :(

2·23 days agoI did watch most of shippuden, too, but it was when it was airing and I never did finish. I never thought it would finish, and when both Naruto and Bleach finished, it was like somebody died, like it was the long awaited end of an era, for each, and I think when one piece eventually ends, it’ll be even moreso, which is wild to think about.

memes@lemmy.world•Gender reveal parties should be done at 16 years not 16 weeksEnglish
6·24 days agoLet’s be real, most people would even take that to be one of two things: “biological sex” or genitals.
“Biological sex” is absolutely not what people think. It is not simply defined by genitals or chromosomes. It is not binary.
So let’s simplify it and make it scientific and accurate, and just call it what it is, a genital reveal of your fetus. Could even be EXTRA violating and show pictures off to all the partygoers celebrating your fucking weird party about your fetus genitals.
Why not be a better person and just celebrate that you’re birthing soon? Have a celebration closing out the last few months of privacy and peace before you have to start caring for a baby 24/7. Say goodbye to the previous phase of your life and ring in the new one. Like a bachelor/ette party before a wedding, but a no-children party before your first kid. It would be staying up all night and watching the sun rise the next day, then taking naps together in quiet, followed by whatever it is you can’t do once you have a baby. Travel or have sex or something. This would also be inclusive for people adopting, where, a few days before you… Uh… Take possession(?) of the kid, you throw one of these parties and socialize with your friends and say goodbye.

9·24 days agoAfter reading basically all of the comments here, I’m gonna dissent and say that the first 300eps of one piece are great and I disagree with people saying they aren’t. The show is not a speedrun. I loved the openings and endings. Skip the recap when it grates on you because over time it gets longer and longer; I remember some episodes having like 6 minutes of recap, which is absolutely unacceptable, regardless of how complex the war-like battles with multiple factions are.
I was greatly saddened by the decision to get rid of outros, and the double length into drags. The show can admittedly be slow in a lot of places, but nowhere near as egregious as a lot of people make it out to be. I LIKE shows that take it easy and have world building and vibe building.
If One Pace does it for you, though, all the power to you. That’s a great project.

No, the interesting part is not that Valve is releasing a box.
The interesting part is that they are releasing a desktop platform linux OS that is basically a commitment from the largest and most integrous digital distribution platform in the world that has an unshakable chokehold on gaming, past, present, and future. It’s a declaration of war upon Microsoft, in a time in society where the people also desperately need a champion for home computing.
The interesting part is Valve is positioning themselves to potentially do an incredible amount of good for a lot of people fed up with publicly traded companies min-maxing extraction of money and forced reliance upon inferior service and software.
It’s not a box with steam on it. It’s an OS option for those of us that want to game in peace.
