  • about the nice looking stuff, have you considered vtubing or even just pngtubing? that should take a bunch of pressure off having to look nice for the stream. they do take some initial setup (getting the vtuber model, setting up the vtubing software), but afterwards when you want to stream, you can just start up the software and you’re ready to go.

about copyrighted material, it’s mostly a matter of finding a playlist from specific stream-friendly labels, such as NoCopyrightSounds and Chillhop Music. they may require attribution in the form of a channel panel underneath your stream, but afterwards you’re free to stream and monetize.

  • for me, streaming is a way for me to share my activity with my friends and have fun. i’ve given my friends many ways to interact with (bully) me on-stream, and it’s all good fun. if my social battery ever drains, i stop streaming for a few days.

i got my affiliate, and am currently not fussed about getting that partner. if i ever get popular, sure, that would be very cool, but honestly, i’m happy with sharing the joy with my friends.

  • my guy, the usa was built on the shoulders of a robust railway system.

the reason why it wouldn’t work now is because the automotive industry has absolutely ruined everything and americans have been conditioned over many years and multiple generations to regard any form of public service and infrastructure as “bad”, “pointless”, and “for poor people”, and so any attempt to actually modernize and fix any of these issues caused by car-dependency is quickly shut down by the ignorant.

you’re correct about the “making the world worse” part. it’s like choosing to toss something in the trash rather than recycling it; that choice may be negligible in the grand scheme of things, but it is worse.

you’re just being an asshole about it.

the way to get people to choose public transit over driving is to improve public transit infrastructure, so that public transit becomes an actual viable alternative to driving, much in the same way the choice to recycle is dependent on the availability of recycling bins and programs.

trying to shame people into switching without taking into account these environmental variables just makes you a prick.

  • that is a very weird way of looking at it. “thank you” has always been a way of expressing gratitude.

yes, they may simply just be doing their job, but at the same time you are also doing what you as a customer should be doing: place your items on the counter, pay, get your stuff, and leave. there’s no need for you to thank someone; there’s no need for any words of exchange.

“thank you” may be a standard polite phrase, but so is “you’re welcome” or “no problem”. you were polite to them, so let them be polite to you by acknowledging your expression of gratitude.
