I asked my nine year old daughter, and she said it doesn’t mean anything, it’s just brain rot to confuse the adults.

It’s good for some things, messaging, banking, background play, etc. just the less you have the less apps will destroy your battery and your network connection.
If you run an android device, or any other computer that doesn’t allow the user to do basic things like close apps. You should make use of the battery optimization settings.
On android every app that you don’t want real time updates from should be set to restricted battery mode, and background data to off.
The only time you need background data is for real time updates or background play in apps like YouTube or Spotify.
This feature will almost certainly get removed in the future if history is any indication, so enjoy having decent battery life and better networking performance while it lasts.
Not so smart anymore eh?

1·2 months agoThis is a common misconception of modern people. The Romans didn’t value masculinity. They valued refinement. They were people who worked on farms, and did everything by hand, and fought in the legion. People like that don’t idealize masculinity. They saw themselves as being superior to other people not because of their masculinity but because of their culture and way of life.
People idealizing masculinity are mostly modern affluent males who never really struggled or worked for anything. They work in offices all day, so they pretend to care about sports or hunting to appear more masculine. They are anything but. They idealize masculinity because they lack it in so many ways.
The Romans also didn’t think there was anything weird if wrong with being homosexual. They had no concept of it being taboo, and just thought it was a normal thing that nearly half of humans were by nature. The Jewish worldview and their dislike of homosexuality and sexuality in general, hadnt came along until long after. Israel was just a backwater at the edge of their empire. It wasn’t until Christianity and Islam took over much of the world that people started to associate homosexuality with gender and masculinity and stuff.

5·2 months agoThe Bible old and New testament is trans affirming although it has some passages against homosexuality. In fact the old testament says that eunuchs are allowed and even favored in heaven, but aren’t allowed in temples. Jesus says that some people are made that way, some born that way, and some choose to be that way to serve God, but doesn’t create a strong requirement to be kind to them, rather saying, those who can understand this should understand it. So both God and Jesus are trans affirming and says so in the Bible, but a man should not lay with another man and also there is a verse about a man should t wear the clothes of a woman, but I don’t think that would apply to eunarchs which are not considered men or women or to have a gender.
This is actually a pretty cool loophole for gay people. If you are a bottom you could just become trans if you have to live in a religiously oppressive society. It gives at least one pathway to happiness and love, but I know there are many gay people who prefer to be masculine while also homosexual.
As a trans person I don’t believe in religion myself but I do pray to God. Maybe an old habit. My idea of God isn’t a skypervert, and authoritarian but more like a friendly spirit who helps people who have good hearts and teaches wisdom to those who have dark hearts, but still stay aligned with the ineffable platonic good.
Even as a child it always seemed really silly to me that a god would care about who you love or what you wore. That never made any sense to me. I always assumed God was more intelligent than your average human. People who believe those things are not really believers in my opinion. All their assumptions are obviously coming from a place of, not actually believing in God, but wanting to use it as a tool to hurt people they don’t like. I see a totally different perspective. To me those people seem miserable and suffering in their own confusion and I always considered that to be justice for their own shittiness and their audacity to badmouth God out of their cynicism. God usually doesn’t punish much, he will sometimes destroy, but when people abuse his name and know him not, then it’s kind of fair game. They are in his debt and owe him for the trouble they cause him.
Humans can also train too. You also can’t shoot what you don’t know is there which I guess is one of humanity’s greatest strengths. Our body’s create very little heat, are electrically neutral, and leave very little chemical trace. We can live out of a backpack for weeks or months. Not everyone is suited for that or has the knowledge but many do.
Not really no, you can stop small rounds with light armor, but heavier rounds require extensive armor. Several inches of plate quickly adds up. The amount of energy it requires to move silently, and fast is pretty high. Batteries aren’t really capable of even just the motion for more then a few minutes. Gasoline engines are load and leave traces in the atmosphere that make them easy to track. The computer systems needed to run the AI are also quite extensive and using radio signals will leave locate them immediately. There are a ton of barriers. No pun intended. There is also just the fact that your 200,000 robot can be taken out by a round that cost a few dollars by a human who is 1000 to a 1,000,000x more energy efficient and harder to detect with some basic gear, like an IR blocking poncho. Humans are made by nature to be stealthy and efficient and excellent killing machines, robots or otherwise.
This is why the AI doomsayers annoy me so much, we are far away from that being a reality anytime soon, while the real dangers if AI are already here and being abused. Propaganda, fake news, vote manipulation, automated harassment, and artificial intelligence for politicians to learn about things they never could learn with their own miserable little brains. AI is being used for censorship, to brainwash people, and has been for many years and yet we are flooded with the endless distractions about an AI apocalypse to stear the conversation away from the actual bad that is being done today with them.
Knowing is half the battle.
