I think this has everything to do with owners and not taking the bites of small dogs seriously. Also dachshunds skew that statistic WILDLY as they account for 30% of bites to strangers across all breeds… as a dachshund owner I can tell you people see those little stubby legs and their common sense goes out the window, thankfully my dogs are nice but I know many a weary dachshund who would bite you if you came in too fast

There’s an entire subset of people who consider any sort of direct criticism, no matter how valid and polite to be a personal attack. “Can you please do the dishes” means “you forgot to do the dishes and me reminding you is directly pointing out your failures” and see that as directly calling them a failure. This sort of thing might work on these types, who also tend to be incredibly passive aggressive.

My age gap is only 9 years but I was 22 at the time and I turn 40 this year and looking back I’m thinking “where were all the adults who were supposed to give me good advice??” Instead of encouraging me into a wildly imbalanced relationship which has been incredibly damaging to me

In all my private and personal meeting with dictators I find that they’re a bit different but they never stop jockeying to be “alpha”. Most have that narcissistic brain that tells them to use everyone around them to feel superior because no one but them is actually real.

I think this is what is considered “an asshole move”
