No, Wero lets users send money using a smartphone. If there’s no desktop interface (like Poland’s BLIK) I’m gonna be disappointed. I know India’s UPI runs on HMD dumbphones, would be nice to have something like this.

Being behind on high tech innovation is an European insecurity. Whenever a new American tech fad comes along - blockchain or AI - Europe seems to jump on it as an opportunity to catch up. Fundamentally though, to get on the fad train you’ll need to buy USA hardware (nVidia, Intel, AMD etc.). It feels like this insecurity is being weaponized so that more US hardware gets sold.

An independent studio that develops a game I’m playing recently launched a “supporters edition” which includes pretty much OST, a bunch of wallpapers and some concept art. It’s essentially a donation.
I thought - wow, with half the videogame world owned by Embracer Group I actually want to support this smaller studio.
