No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can I still bypass Microsoft account creation when reinstalling windows through the "reset this PC" option?
5·16 days agoExperiences vary. My 67 year old mother requires my help every few months because Ubuntu managed to fuck up itself again. Or because she managed to do so. I wish I could switch her to something more stable (fuck, even Windows didn’t give here that much trouble back in the days), but due to an accident she can’t handle a change like that anymore. So fuck my life, I’m stuck with supporting that piece of shit excuse of a Linux distro.
You missed the joke. That was a quote from Deus Ex, the game depicted in the screenshot. 🙂
And the spacing. So weird and unnatural.
Why? It’s completely natural that people tend to distance themselves from anything that smells like decomposition and rot.

9·2 months agoThere is never a reason to not back in, and the end result is always a better parking job and an easier exit.
With the exception of diagonally placed parking spots next to a one-way lane, like the 30-60 degree ones here: https://www.dimensions.com/collection/parking-lot-layouts.
If the lane is wide enough you might be able to back up into a 60 degree one, but I’d hardly qualify it as a better parking job or easier exit.
With regular parking lots I fully agree that backing up is usually far superior.
The first laptop I bought had a DVD burner which came with support for LightScribe, which required discs with a special coating. You designed a cover, put the disc in your drive upside down and it would burn the image into the disc. You could only do grayscale as far as I know, but I still thought it was pretty neat at the time.
You’d be hard pressed to find a company that still allows/accepts manual payment here, for recurring payments it’s basically mandatory to use direct debit. At the other hand, manually paying wouldn’t save on any fees.
Are those 15 bucks a banking fee?
More like the 26th here, that’s when almost every company executes their direct debit. Manually paying bills is, with a rare exception, not a thing here anymore.
The 1st is the date I think off when I finally remember to turn over the birthday calendar around the 20th and have to decide whether or not I’m going to skip to the next month. 😋

I concur, if only because it’s also Dutch for “sausage”, which I find highly appropriate in this case.
