I already dislike that they added podcasts to it. Podcasts do not belong on the same platform I use to watch real tv and movies
Podcasts having a visual element at all defeats the point of podcasts for me.
I listen to podcasts on my hours long commute and almost all of them have a video element now through Netflix or Youtube. Its kind of weird but it’s extra revenue for the podcasters and its not something I have to sort past in my podcast app since you specifically have to search this out on other platforms, so I don’t really have an issue with it.
Imo it’s fine if it’s on YouTube, but too many people are also filming themselves record their podcast, so it then just kinda turns into a bullshit “talk show” where people just hang out with their friends
It’s only fine on Youtube because Well There’s Your Problem is funny enough to get a pass for things that are annoying when other people do them
Reminds me of the time Netflix wanted to also be a games app and publisher, then gave up years after everyone told them it was a bad idea…
Did they finally? They were still pushing games on the platform when I cancelled last year
They still have the Netflix on mobile thing but they stopped adding new things to it and effectively killed their gaming division.
Reminds me of the WB/Discovery merger when they wanted everything under one app and things like HBO got relegated to some tab within an app full of garbage.
That company is now merging with Paramount 😂
Gosh Capitalism is so efficient.
I mean, the app doesn’t work a bunch of the time for movie streaming. I don’t see where it shouldn’t be useless for ordering food, and incapable at mobile payments, at the same time.
Hell, let’s add some kind of non-functional social media layer!
When there’s no quality assurance anyway, it’s easy to add features!
