    I’d say she was inspired by Neal Stephenson’s book Diamond Age, but I’ve seen no compelling evidence that Melanua can read.

      Thanks for another suggestion. I read snow crash and cryptonomicon and zodiac.

      So far zodiac was my fav

        Diamond Age was, I believe, written directly after Snowcrash, so it is one of his earlier books. I really enjoyed the concepts and world building in it.
