IPI welcomes the recent criminal convictions handed down by a Greek court to four individuals from surveillance firm Intellexa whose Predator spyware was used to illegally surveil Greek journalist Thanasis Koukakis.

    An Athens court convicted four Intellexa executives including founder Tal Dilian for wiretapping journalists and politicians with Predator spyware.

    This just makes sure that there won’t be a competent security company within the EU. How can such a company make sure that the software is only used for legal surveillance? They would need to have their own investigative service.
