    I think the correct German expression would be “sonst werde ich dir die Fresse polieren”, which I again have no idea on how to translate to English (what’s the English word for “Fresse”?? - Important stuff you don’t learn in language class…).

    I like “knuckle sandwich”, though! :-) The word for “knuckle” would be “Knöchel”, but that usually is not used when talking about fighting.

    But we interestingly also have a backery-themed expression for hitting someone: “ich semmel dir eine” (Semmel being the Southern German name for a kind of backed breakfast roll, and for some reason used as a verb here…)

      had to look that up: ‘polish your mouth’
      which is pretty colorful hahaha

      I’ll update my threat to a bread-based one, since bread is life

      “Ich fuetter dir ein Knoechel Broetchen!” (yep, common expression, yep…)

        That’s quite the… “friendly” translation. I’d translate it as “polish your fucking mouth” instead.

        You will likely get your mouth polished if you call someone’s mouth a “Fresse”.
