    Just want to point out, the release date of a product does not dictate when that product was incepted.

    That said, they’ve kinda been doing that for a decade in certain respects?

      Apple commentator John Gruber wrote this regarding Samsung vs Apple’s foldable:

      Samsung Galaxy Fold8 — the new one that preemptively copied the folding iPhone’s aspect ratio

      Emphasis mine. Who knows, maybe Samsung had some inside information about the iPhone Duo when designing the Fold8, or maybe they just decided on the aspect ration organically. I’m more Apple fanboy than hater, but even I had to take a double take when I read that blatantly Apple-centric sentence.

      Edit: I’m just now coming to the realization that because Samsung makes the screens for the iPhone, maybe it is accurate to say they preemptively copied the Duo.

        Yeah that’s what I was meaning. There were reports of the iPhone passport size phone long before the Samsung variant, and Samsung absolutely had knowledge of apples plans one way or another.
