To be clear, I think you’re in denial about the GOP conventions regularly causing issues with Grindr and the level of closetted man-on-man action in the famously hypocritical and deflecting Republican party. I have no idea about your sexuality, don’t care what it is, and can’t deduce that from what you’re saying, but I’m concerned about your political affiliation.
Sure, buddy. GOP definitely doesn’t have lots of repressed gay and bi people in it, because no right wing person would ever act hypocritically. You go ahead and believe whatever you want to believe about the RNC and grindr. Sorry to have upset you.
You’re repeatedly and routinely completely missing the opportunity to make this point under news stories about outages that don’t call out the hypocrisy of the Republican party.
Don’t parrot Republican talking points. They’re worse than regular lies.
Calling homophobic jokes about how every conservative shitbag is actually gay a Republican talking point is certainly…a choice.
You can call Republicans homophonic shitbags without also using “haha ur gay” as an insult. I just did it, it was really easy. But apparently still too difficult for some people it seems…
I didn’t make it up, and I didn’t say it was all of them, that’s a straw man, I just don’t argue with anyone who claims that the GOP convention regularly crashes grindr like you do.
I’m not making a joke, I’m pointing out hypocrisy, and I’m also calling you out, specifically, for pouring skepticism on people who claim grindr was swamped by the gop whilst not launching into this tirade against the unreliability of reliability-tracking-websites under other stories about outages.
I may be wrong and your post history might be full of this particular rant, but I doubt you can point to a similar comment you’ve made under a story that doesn’t reflect badly on the Republicans, because I suspect that this unreliability claim exists purely because you get cognitive dissonance from the gop crashing grindr.
You’re doing the denial of publicly available information, you’re doing the ad hominem attacking and you’re making me start to believe that you’re deflecting about the homophobia.
You still haven’t owned up and apologized for using “you are gay” as an insult.

First of all, are you really asking me to link to specific Lemmy comments when I said I have had a consistent pattern for 20 years? I suggest you look into how old the fediverse is.
Second of all, I encourage you to stalk my comment history for like, literally two minutes and you will see how stupidly off the deep end you have gone calling me a MAGA idiot instead of accepting that you are wildly wrong and fell for a shitty troll.
You’re doing the denial of publicly available information
Ok, let’s talk about publically available information then. Can you show me on the doll where these outages are happening? Here is the externally validated status page for grindr: https://status.grindr.com/
Next, let’s look at how DownDetector works on the literal first sentence of Wikipedia after the intro:
The information that is provided by the site is based upon user outage reports, which are collected from various sources, including the page for each website on Downdetector itself and Twitter.[4][1]
Please, tell me more about how I’m the one making stuff up. Or alternatively just promise me that next time you will do 5 seconds of research when someone tells you a new fact.
No one claimed it went down globally. It is possible to have a regional issue with access. Could be the CDN or some DNS service got a bit overloaded and the GOP guys didn’t get the dick they were seeking, but it’s resolved now, so not to worry. They can always check later in the evening from their hotel room.
I would expect something to have recorded downtime at least, but none is reported. Just saying that down detector isn’t as reliable as the official logger
Like I suggested, if it’s the local CDN or some DNS, grindr central would be working fine and Republicans at home could get as much dick as they liked, just those at the convention would be affected, and then only temporarily.
Why is it so implausible that Republicans indulge their secret sexual fantasies when they’re away from home?
Why aren’t you under every article claiming outage complaining about how unreliable some unreliable-website-tracking website is? Why is it only when Republicans get shown up for their hypocrisy that you’re suddenly turning the skeptical to maximum?
Just going off what you said. I find it weird that folks take any number of reports of network outages of websites or apps on the chin except when it’s the gop crashing grindr yet again at their convention (when they’re all away from home with people with a similar vested interest in not being seen on grindr by their neighbours).
Suddenly then it most all be a hoax or bad data and needs arguing with and couldn’t possibly be true. Weird closed mind shit.
Are you not taking the user reports on down detector at face value? All I pointed out is that those unverified reports conflict with official data about uptime. I even explicitly said there was a spike, as usual. It’s just not literally breaking the app. Then you conjectured those baseless claims I don’t hold simply because I said there’s no real evidence the spike was so big it breaks the app
Do you know how downdetector works? It’s not actually detecting anything, it’s 100% based on user reports.
People are making false reports to troll, and you’re taking the bait hook, line, and sinker.
Mm.
Probably should have led with that.
I think you’re in denial.
Yes, I have been denying downdetector’s bullshit for coming on 20 years now because it’s been misleading people for that entire time.
Also, do you regularly use calling people gay as an insult? It’s a real shitbag homophobic move.

No one claimed Grindr activity didn’t increase, but it never went down
Unlike a whole bunch of republican reps and staffers.
You’re completely missing what I’m ranting about. Don’t use downdetector, it’s worse than useless.

Is Grindr also in denial?

You’re arguing against positions I don’t have, you good?
