Have not watched the movie. But if I’m not mistaken - many of the past traditions and including for the royalty. It was that the grooms family that would traverse through the land to pick up/bring back the bride back to his home. It’s still somewhat practiced if im not mistaken, but not like the caravan style as you seen in those old school films.
