    The problem is, AI doesn’t exist. The industry combined several different items under one umbrella, so they can sell you shit while talking about something useful.
    There are many good applications for different “machine learning” systems, and we had them for decades, and they’re evolving separately. But then there is LLM. And for LLM specifically, the inevitable unavoidable huge cost in computational power and in toll it takes on humanity makes it’s not worth it, for any application, ever. It’s essentially a toy, a chat bot that is designed to trick humans into believing they’re reading a coherent speech.
    There is no good application for LLM considering all what it does.

      You can avoid using it. You can dislike it - but llms are here to stay for good.
      Eventually they will figure out a better technology, but home run models not going to go away.
      They do empower people who are not tech savvy to do things - and to make things nobody would ever paid a professional to do or make.
      Some of that is obvious slop but there are things that deserve existing.

        If we believe salespeople that is, and when did they lie amirite?
        No, they wouldn’t disappear completely, nothing that exists does. But I firmly believe that the second the bubble popps, this shit will go the way of nft.
        Because this myth of usefulness and empowering is just it, myth. It makes some utter shit that nobody needs, and it wastes everyone’s time making everyone’s lives marginally worse.

          Home run models never go away. Even if you have some basic knowledge - generating some pictures, then manually editing it can save you days of work.
          Not everyone will give this up - and some people can’t afford to pay for human labor to replace their missing skills.

            If you want to make shit that is. Utter ugly shit from a butt. If you can edit a shit picture so it’s not shit anymore, you’ll be better starting from scratch. If you start with shit, you still have an unoriginal rot at the core of it, so it’s still smells like shit no matter how much you polish it.
            Sure, a bunch of people will continue doing so, but if humanity will preserve concept of beauty, this shit will never stick, and slopfuckers will fuck their slop in the quietness of their homes without pushing it everywhere, and that’s their business.
