Season 1 was good. Then season 2 was great! The Christmas episode (Fishes) is up there with the all-time great episodes of any series. Then season 3 was so lukewarmish imo that I didn’t even make it halfway through before forgetting all about the show. I hardly ever like dramas, so It’s pretty surprising I even made it that far, but maybe it’s worth giving it another try again.
I barely remember 3, and did not enjoy 4 at all. When it wasn’t being needlessly “arty” everyone was just miserable all the time. Haven’t seen 5 yet but I hope it’s better than the last two seasons.
I agree that three was weaker but I really enjoyed season four. Looking forward to season five and glad it’s the end. I think we’ve largely told the story we plan to tell and season five will wrap it up nicely.
I agree, 4 was better than three but also predictable and at that point very cheesed out. Season 5 10/10 ratings makes me skeptical as fan service has outweighed the series originality.

Had the exact same experience with this show. Let me down hard in the third season
