Three days before his killing, Semyon Skrepetsky had protested outside the Russian embassy in Berlin. He held an icon-like caricature of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Soviet leader Josef Stalin.

I like the idea of the work with Putin being a child of Stalin’s ideology, but the execution seems a bit questionable. Exaggerated hook shaped noses have many times been used in antisemitic caricatures.

Either way: Fuck you, Putin! Rest easy, Semyon Skrepetsky!
