I feel like she is consistently being miscast as an action heroine. She always seemed too cute and bubbly to be an action badass. Her face is incredibly expressive yet her roles never demand expressivenes from her, which makes her talents go to waste. It’s funny that Lena Headey played Cersei and Emilia played Daenerys which are completing non-interchangeable but somehow somebody thought they both could play Sarah Connor. Lena Headeys Sarah Connor worked, because she already has that punk Rockstar badass Joan Jett vibe while Emila is more of the girl next door type. It’s strange how often lead actresses of big franchises have troubles in the years after by trying to break out into other mayor productions (see Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, Dakota Johnson, Sophie Tuner), while actors usually take on much smaller projects and have a steady career (see Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Woods, Kit Harington).

Clarke is being miscast as an action star. She didn’t play an action character in GOT. All Daenarys did for the bulk of her screen time was look gorgeous and be mostly cluelessly lost. Every now and then she would take a bath or fuck somebody.

When the character had to do more than that it just didn’t really work. That is a big pat of why her flip in S8 to ruthless killing machine was so jarring. Though the framework of the character doing whatever she needed to win the war/kindom was kind of there all along.

On the follow up work, Watson really has had the most post franchise success. Beauty And the Beast made over 1 billion.
