Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you go do right now if money, responsibilities, and health weren't a thing
5·16 days agoMove out of the US, buy a manual coupe of undetermined make, model, and year, establish a global food bank, fly big drones around and into specific places it’s hard for the average person to get to and record what I see there, read a shit ton of books, build a generation ship and head blindly to Alpha Centauri in the last twenty years of my life.
It’s from a waterproof children’s book, but I don’t know which one. I recognize it from my childhood.
Why is everybody reading this book all of a sudden? I’ve seen it mentioned like 10 times this week alone!
Not musical taste per se, but I think it’s valid to filter based on the prospects’ relationship to the artists they listen to.
The people that post celebrities getting married on their Instagram would be an immediate no-go for me, for example.
E: forgot about country. If you listen to country, ion fuck with you.
Every day I sit at my office desk and long for the days when honest work stocking shelves was my sole responsibility. It kept me active and it kept my mind occupied. I hate having an office job. I hate that I can’t eat junk food and I have to utilize my free time exercising. I hate my vapid and fake burgois coworkers. I hate the industry I’m in. I hate the politics. I hate the smell of the communal bathroom. I hate the finance bros. If I’m short on sleep, I always fantasize about the whole place burning down and the people I wouldn’t miss or even feel a modicum of empathy for. The office has soured my soul… it is a compete removal of the human from their natural environment and purpose.
Lovely subversion of expectations
Elaborate, enlighten the masses!
Absolutely and unequivocally yes. Nothing should constrain the boundaries of scientific study in space, especially now that our years are numbered due to climate change and dumbass fascists and dictators with launch codes. Whities on the moon, while a noble and valuable sentiment, should be altered to whities on patrol or something.
I’m so sick and tired of seeing Americans bitch about space exploration colonialism and remain silent on the colonialism that continues to kill and exploit Innocent people across the world.
Yes, we need better social infrastructure desperately, but that should come at the cost of terrestrial imperialism, not space exploration.
50 years ago, they had to take their photographs with film. 50 years ago, they had no means of live-streaming the entire flight. 50 years ago, email didn’t exist at all, so of course it didn’t break.
But yeah Microslop sucks absolute ass and it’s poetic justice that Outlook would fuck up like this.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•It's time that the truth be known. No more deception.
18·28 days agoIt’s true, I was there. For all of it. I’m everywhere and nowhere all at once. I am inside your ventricular nerve, your spinal cord, your big toe and your pinkie toe.
He actually kept his smile broad the whole time; the only one to do so.
That’s how you get Artemis to turn into an IPBM project. This is a situation where I understand the affirmations.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what's something from Reddit that you hope we never see on Lemmy?

This.
I somehow missed the first part of your comment. I agree, a secular alternative should be available.
I strongly disagree. As someone who broadly detests religion, I know that the mere act of praying can act as self-confrontation that is otherwise inaccessible in many cases.

E: I agree though that when a book clicks it paints a picture far more vivid than a screen ever could.
