It’s so fucking funny yet nonsensical and pathetic. I have always seen this accusation of “racism” when criticising CCP. CCP trolls have taken a page from Israeli government’s successful co-opting of “antisemitism”. Although CCP’s attempt to weaponise “racism” falls flat when you point out that the criticism is railed on pissing off South East Asia and Taiwan by trying to claim an entire body of ocean and wanting to annex a democratic society. So nothing is racist here. The “racism” angle is founded on weak grounds. Maybe this works on Chinese domestic audience? Russian trolls are cleverer with their psychological subversive tactics.

That’s an interesting spin I have ever seen of whitewashing crimes of communist regimes. You’re definitely a tankie.
I should add, those who defend China and USSR as if they can’t do anything wrong are DEFINITELY tankies.
Does the person deny the human rights violation of USSR and China? Then they’re tankies. Simple as that.
Scientists doing everything and coming up with ideas on their own without any assistants or collaboration. They are also somehow mad genius experts on every field, like they are also physicist, biologist and engineer all in one. Most scientists in real life are specialist because it is impossible to be a generalist. There are also no such thing as home laboratories. You can’t work in an uncontrolled and unregulated environment because it affects not just results of experiments, but health and safety is a major issue if things go awry.
people themselves outside of business motives hate negativity.
I think these companies are hooking into these human flaws in ways that hurt us, and benefit them with information asymmetry.
Oh, companies know. Social media have definitive data that show most users engage on anger. That’s why it’s in their core interest to promote rage baits and disinformation. More engagements means more traffic. More traffic means more advertisers. More advertisers means more revenues.
Hell, even before social media, news tends to report more on negative news than positive ones. Because bad news is tantamount to hearing gossips, and we all love gossips. I know many of us will say bad news makes us sad, and yet we still tune in to any news.
People regularly get angry at others for bringing up criticisms of everything from foods to their favourite media products.
Kind of on a tangent, I notice this as well that some people seem more predisposed to negative thinking. I think it’s just hardwired into them. Although, I have to say, in my field of work, negative thinkers tend to have good attention to detail. Being suspicious and mindful all the time, they will check every nooks and crannies, and examining and scanning for almost everything. It is a good trait to a limited degree, but it could impair relationships both at work and outside, if one is too suspicious and distrustful of everyone.

I could still access .world though.
But AI trading is (theoretically) about spotting and predicting long term trends in the market, not front running active trades.
Yeah, AI has been useful finding leads for me. So far, it had been correct with some long term market predictions. I asked AI of the resilience of the renewable energy sector, and it had been correct since my renewable stocks have grown in face of tech stocks sell off and broader market uncertainty. But I suppose it’s a no-brainer considering that the renewable energy sector is still utilities, and utilities are go-to defensive investments in the face of market downturn.
I just use AI for projected profits and losses, and determine earnings schedule and report. I also trade in international markets and I have used AI as well. And like a lucky gold miner prospecting, AI helped me with finding good leads in the international market.
But of course, in spite all that, you have to have due diligence. You still have to verify if what the AI is saying is correct.

7·1 month agoThat, and pizza, when I was growing up in my home country, is kind of seen as a luxury thing. We only eat pizza on special occasions. Now as a grown up, I can afford to be obsessed with pizza.

10·1 month agoUnfortunately, carbon capture is useless if we’re still burning fossil fuels for power, heat, and transport.
Carbon capture is actively harmful when used as an excuse to build new fossil fuel power plants.
Yeah, it’s a blank check to just produce more CO2.

1·2 months agoNothing wrong with investing so long as you avoid unethical companies. But I have to admit it’s a needle in a haystack. And even good ones eventually enshitiffy.

1·2 months agoStudent loans and medical debt isn’t so much of an issue here in Europe because education and health care is either subsidised or fully government funded. But we are also still dealing with inflation and housing crisis like the rest of the world. Increasingly more young people still live with their parents in here. And that should be taken advantage of to save money if possible, although I understand some people don’t have a great relationship with their parents so they have no other choice. In some cultures, however, still living with their parents is still very much a taboo without considering the housing situation.
Edit: I should also mention, it also saves a lot if you have a partner to live with, not just with parents.

1·2 months agoThose who go bankrupt typically put money without doing research and ride the hype on a bullish stock without good fundamentals, or trade in penny stocks. That’s rookie mistake or those with gambling problem. Most advisors would say invest in ETFs for those with low risk tolerance. Anyone can do so with however little money.

3·2 months agoSome investment platforms usually don’t charge fees like Trading 212 (they make money from speculative trading instead).
Penny stocks are usually riskier and their positive return on investment could take years to come depending on the business.

2·2 months agoMy guess is that people thought I am inconsiderate of people’s financial situation. I didn’t mean offense. As for the simply pessimistic, I think they are looking for confirmation bias. Of course for those on poverty, $10 may mean a lot, but for those who are relatively well to do, $10 is not even a lot.
And don’t just take my word for it, most financial advisors will say investing is the best method to grow wealth. I implore people to read comprehensive books to start in investing. The best book for beginners is The Investor’s Mindset by Ben Le Fort. And you are right with the calculations, I also wish I have started investing much earlier. Saving alone is not enough with the growing wealth inequality and rising inflation.
Love this! I will keep this in mind next time someone dismiss concerns and say things could be worse.
