He says it because Russia has problems in the war since month. According to news since few weeks Ukraine is not only holding ground, but also regaining certain parts. Considering also the problematic economic situation in Russia, it is now not the time to join. Believe me, this guy would have said differently when Russia would be on a victor path. Lukashenko is a weasel and an opportunist.

You can manipulate statistics in many ways. No totalitarian regime, dictator, or similar system is required for that. Russia and China can currently be considered extreme examples. However, another user below has provided Chinese sources claiming that everything is fine in China. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you consider those sources trustworthy.

I spent part of my youth living in a country under an authoritarian regime. Crime was very rare, and people generally wanted nothing to do with the security services, especially not with the prison system. Women could walk alone at night with little fear for their safety. Of course, incidents still occurred, but the perpetrators often faced severe consequences. In some cases, a man who beat his wife end up being beaten up by the police - know such cases.

Does that sound like a dream? In some respects, life was not that bad. In others, it was quite the opposite. Why? Because corruption and oppression were also very real possibilities and if you made perhaps rightfully some troubles it could be a tough life for you then, but that is another topic.

And Russia or China? What percentage of recidivism you find there? I assume much lower than even Sweden.

So you want these kids, who killed somebody in cold blood, have TV, gym and fun in the prison in order to convince them that it is a bad idea to do it again, because they may end up in the same situation? Sorry, I was almost choking from laughing.

They are not writing what kind of prisons are these. I hope that these kids have to do each day from very early in the morning to the late evening hard work with two times per day just water, a cheap soup and cheap bread. Nowhere a gym with games, TV and good food. I am convinced that next time they will think twice to do harm to somebody.

I am interested where this is heading to in Russia and hope that Ukraine can continue to keep its ground. Personally have nothing against Russia falling apart.

I would say there is a difference between leftists in the US and in Europe, although there are certainly overlaps. For example, I haven’t seen anything in the US comparable to the scenes during the G20 protests in Hamburg or the 01st May demonstrations in Berlin and Connewitz.

On the other hand, we can ask the question: what exactly is a „leftist"? We can ask the same about „right-wingers." Is someone who follows communist ideas necessarily a leftist? Some people would say yes, others would disagree. Likewise, some people might consider a conservative to be right-wing, while others would see them as simply conservative. So, both the left and the right exist on a spectrum, which can make labels difficult to define precisely.

However, I used the term „leftist" in my previous comment because Paris has a large and influential left-wing community. As far as I know, Lyon is - as a counterexample - generally more conservative and there I never came across such scenes like in the clip from Paris. But perhaps some French users can correct me if I’m mistaken.

Typical for France, especially PSG. The major problem is that these morons don’t understand that somebody needs to pay for all the damage, firefighters and police - this is mostly the country, meaning the people. But AFAIK leftist are happy about it.

I would say that you don’t leave any living being in the car, which is not capable to opening the door with ease by itself, when temperatures are elevated outside!!! This counts for elderly, immobile or physically or mentally disabled people as well as for any animal - dogs die often due to leaving them alone in the car when it’s hot, sometimes the window slightly open, though this does not help.

So, please, take action if you see anybody or any animal suffering in a car, because it is hot. In some countries you can call the police.
