Yeah, that’s what apps like “jobright” do.
Not only is it doable, you can have a script download the job listing, feed it your resume, and have it rewrite your resume and cover letter to match everything they list in the posting, then submit it.

Applescript? Damn, that’s a throwback. Haven’t regularly used MacOS in years though, have they revived it?
It never went away.
In fact, after acquiring Shortcuts, the app that replaced Automator, they tied AppleScript into it so you can bootstrap custom scripts to whatever shortcuts you make. It’s kind of weird seeing such interoperability and backward compatibility in the Cook era.
